Principal's Message
A Warm Welcome and Exciting Times Ahead!
Hello wonderful Tamworth Public School community! It's your principal here, absolutely thrilled to be sharing this edition of our newsletter with you all. I want to start by extending a massive thank you to everyone – parents, guardians, students, and staff – for your ongoing support and dedication to making our school such a vibrant and positive place to learn and grow. The energy around the school lately has been incredible, and it's all thanks to the collaborative spirit we share. We've been incredibly busy with preparations for our upcoming Annual School Fair, which I'm personally very excited about. It’s a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their talents, for our families to connect, and for us to raise vital funds for new playground equipment. Speaking of achievements, I am bursting with pride when I see the incredible efforts our students are putting into their studies and extracurricular activities. From the brilliant science projects displayed last week to the outstanding performances in our school play rehearsals, the dedication is truly inspiring. Our teachers and support staff are working tirelessly to provide the best possible educational experience, and their commitment doesn't go unnoticed. We're also gearing up for Parent-Teacher Interviews next term, which are crucial for fostering a strong home-school partnership. This is your chance to discuss your child's progress, celebrate their successes, and work together on any areas where they might need a little extra support. Please keep an eye out for the booking information, which will be sent home shortly. Furthermore, we are constantly looking for ways to improve our school facilities and learning environments. We've recently invested in new technology for our computer lab, and we're exploring options for updating our library resources. Your feedback is invaluable in this process, so please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any suggestions. Remember, our school is a community, and the stronger we are together, the more successful our students will be. I encourage you to get involved in school events, volunteer if you can, and most importantly, keep those lines of communication open. Let's continue to make Tamworth Public School a place where every child feels supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential. I’m looking forward to seeing many of you at the fair and other upcoming events. Let’s make this a term to remember!
Student Spotlights
Celebrating Our Stars!
Guys, you won't believe the talent we have shining bright at Tamworth Public! This section is all about celebrating the incredible achievements of our students, both inside and outside the classroom. We love hearing about your successes, so if your child has done something amazing, make sure to let us know! First up, a huge congratulations to the Year 6 debating team, who absolutely smashed it at the regional competition last week. Their critical thinking, persuasive arguments, and teamwork were truly top-notch. They debated the topic 'Should homework be banned?', and let me tell you, their points were so convincing, even the judges were swayed! We're so proud of their dedication to practice and their courage to stand up and speak their minds. Keep an eye out for these future leaders! Next, we want to give a massive shout-out to Maya in Year 4, who recently won a gold medal at the local gymnastics championships. Maya has been training incredibly hard for years, and her perseverance has truly paid off. She not only achieved first place in her age group but also received special commendation for her sportsmanship. Her coach mentioned that her positive attitude and encouragement towards other competitors made her stand out. Way to go, Maya! We also have some budding artists to celebrate. The artwork submitted to the 'Our Environment' competition hosted by the Tamworth Art Gallery was outstanding. Special mention goes to Liam in Year 5 for his incredibly detailed and thought-provoking painting of the local river system, which won second prize. His use of colour and texture really captured the beauty and fragility of our natural environment. It's currently on display at the gallery, so be sure to check it out! Furthermore, we want to acknowledge the incredible effort put in by all students who participated in the recent school athletics carnival. The spirit of sportsmanship and encouragement was fantastic to see. A special mention to young Sam in Year 2, who despite being one of the youngest competitors, showed incredible determination in the 100m sprint, cheering on everyone else even after he finished. It's this kind of positive attitude that makes our school so special. We are constantly amazed by the diverse talents and the positive spirit of our students. Remember, every effort, big or small, is worth celebrating. Keep striving, keep learning, and keep shining bright, Tamworth Public stars!

P&C News
Your Partner in School Success!
The Parents and Citizens' (P&C) Association is buzzing with activity, guys, and we want to keep you all in the loop! Our P&C plays a vital role in supporting Tamworth Public School, working hand-in-hand with the school administration and staff to enhance the learning experience for all our students. The Annual School Fair is our biggest undertaking, and we are so grateful for the incredible support we've received so far from parents volunteering their time and local businesses donating prizes. We still need a few more hands for stall supervision and setup, so if you have a spare hour or two, please get in touch! Your contribution, no matter how small, makes a huge difference. We've also been busy planning the School Banking program, which recommences next term. This is a fantastic initiative to teach our children about saving and financial responsibility from a young age. Details on how to sign up will be sent out shortly. Furthermore, the P&C has approved funding for new library books and playground equipment – items that have been identified as priorities by both the school and the students themselves. These purchases would not be possible without the funds raised through events like the fair and the ongoing support of our school community. We're constantly looking for new fundraising ideas and opportunities, so if you have any suggestions or are interested in joining our committee, please don't hesitate to reach out. We meet on the first Tuesday of every month in the school staff room at 7:00 PM. It's a friendly and collaborative environment where we discuss school initiatives, plan events, and make decisions that directly benefit our students. Your input is incredibly valuable, and we’d love to see more faces there. The P&C is more than just a fundraising group; it's a community of dedicated parents and citizens passionate about providing the best possible environment for our children. We believe in fostering strong partnerships between home and school, and we actively encourage open communication and collaboration. Thank you for your continued support – together, we make Tamworth Public School an even better place!
Important Reminders
Stay Informed, Stay Involved!
Just a few quick but important reminders to ensure we're all on the same page, folks. Firstly, please remember to keep our school office informed of any changes to your contact details. It’s crucial for emergencies and for ensuring you receive all important communications from the school. A quick call or email to the office is all it takes! Secondly, attendance is paramount. Regular attendance ensures students don't miss vital learning opportunities and helps them stay engaged with their studies and their peers. If your child is unwell, please ensure they stay home to recover and notify the school of their absence. We also want to remind everyone about our school’s sun safety policy. With the warmer weather approaching, please ensure your children are wearing hats to school and that they have sunscreen applied before they come. Hats are mandatory during outdoor play and physical education. Let’s protect our students’ skin! Another important reminder relates to lost property. We have a dedicated lost property box located near the school office. Please encourage your children to check this box regularly if they misplace any items. Unclaimed items will be donated at the end of each term. We also ask that all students’ belongings, especially hats and lunchboxes, be clearly labelled with their name and class. This makes it so much easier to reunite lost items with their rightful owners. Finally, we'd like to gently remind everyone about parking safety around the school. Please adhere to all traffic regulations, be mindful of our crossing supervisors, and avoid parking in no-standing zones. The safety of our students walking to and from school is our top priority. Let’s work together to ensure a safe environment for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation in adhering to these important reminders!
Conclusion
Until Next Time!
And that’s a wrap on this edition of the Tamworth Public School newsletter, guys! We hope you found it informative and engaging.
